• Jai and Soori first teamed up for Bramman (2014) because director I. Ahmed wanted a fresh comic pair. Soori was already a rising comedian, but Jai specifically asked for him after seeing his work in Soodhu Kavvum. The two met for coffee, and Jai said, 'I don't want a sidekick. I want a partner.' That sealed it.
• In Idhu Namma Aalu (2016), Soori improvised nearly all his lines on set. Jai would set the scene's rhythm, then Soori would riff off it. Director Pandiraj told them to 'just go with it' — and the scene where Soori tries to teach Jai how to flirt was entirely unscripted. Jai later said Soori made him 'look funnier by being the straight man.'
• During the shoot of Sangili Bungili Kathava Thorae (2017), Jai and Soori shared a room in a small lodge near the set. Every night, they'd watch old Goundamani-Senthil comedy clips and try to recreate the timing. Soori later admitted they 'never got it right, but it made us laugh until 3 AM.'
• Soori once said in an interview: 'Jai is the only hero who let me take the punchline. Most heroes want the last laugh. He gave me the last word in every scene.'
• Their pairing in Bramman (2014) directly inspired director Pandiraj to cast them again in Idhu Namma Aalu (2016). Pandiraj said he 'wrote the entire second half around their banter.' That film's success then led to Sangili Bungili Kathava Thorae (2017) — making them the only comedy duo in Tamil cinema to headline three films in four years without a single solo hit between them.
