• Director P. Vasu cast Radha Ravi and Malaysia Vasudevan together for the first time in Uzhavan Magan (1987) because he wanted a fresh villain-hero dynamic — Radha Ravi was the angry antagonist, Vasudevan the soft-spoken hero. Vasu later said he picked Vasudevan specifically to contrast Radha Ravi's intensity.
• In Rasave Unnai Nambi (1988), Radha Ravi's character was written as a loud, aggressive rival. But on set, he deliberately lowered his voice in scenes with Vasudevan, forcing Vasudevan to raise his — the director kept the take because it created a tense, unpredictable rhythm between them.
• Malaysia Vasudevan was a trained singer who often hummed film songs between takes.
