• Srividya was already a star in Malayalam when she signed 'Delhi To Madras' (1972). Muthuraman was a character actor trying to break into lead roles. She personally asked the director to cast him as her hero — she had seen his work in a stage play and felt he had the right 'everyman' energy to balance her intensity.
• In 'Kalangalil Aval Vasantham' (1976), Muthuraman deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery to match Srividya's natural rhythm. He later told a magazine that she 'breathed in pauses' and he learned to act in the silence between words because of her.
• During the shoot of 'Nalla Pennmani' (1976), Srividya would cook Muthuraman's favourite Kerala-style fish curry every Sunday on location. He called her 'my on-screen wife and off-screen mess manager' in a lighthearted interview. They stayed close friends until his death in 1984.
• Their last film together, 'Katrinile Varum Geetham' (1978), was the first Tamil film to use a fully orchestrated Western string section for a romantic duet. The composer, Ilaiyaraaja, later said he wrote the song 'Kannan Oru Kai Kuzhandhai' specifically because Srividya and Muthuraman's on-screen tenderness needed a sound that had never been heard in Tamil cinema before.
• Muthuraman once said in a 1980 interview: 'With Srividya, I never felt like I was acting. She had this way of looking at me that made me forget the camera. We didn't need to rehearse — we just had to look at each other and the scene was already there.'
