• They first paired up in Manoharam (2000) because the director, S.V. Krishna Reddy, wanted a fresh-looking couple. Jagapathi Babu was already a star, but Laya was relatively new. He personally requested her for the role after seeing her in a small cameo.
• In Naalo Vunna Prema (2001), Jagapathi Babu deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery to match Laya's natural, softer rhythm. He told the director that her pauses made the romantic scenes feel more real, so he stopped rushing his lines.
• During the shoot of Siva Rama Raju (2002), Laya would bring homemade snacks for Jagapathi Babu every day. He later admitted in an interview that those small gestures kept the mood light on a set that was otherwise tense due to production delays.
