• Kamal Haasan personally requested Jayapradha for Ninaithale Inikkum (1979). He had just seen her in a Telugu film and told director SP Muthuraman she was the only one who could play the role. Muthuraman agreed without a screen test.
• On the sets of Salangai Oli (1983), Kamal would rehearse complex dance sequences for hours before Jayapradha arrived. She then matched his energy in one or two takes. The crew said she made him look effortless — he pushed her to be sharper, she made him relax.
• After Salangai Oli wrapped, Kamal and Jayapradha stayed close friends for decades. When he needed a cameo for Dasavathaaram (2008) — 25 years later — she said yes immediately. No contract, no negotiation. Just a phone call.
• Jayapradha once said in an interview: 'Kamal doesn't just act with you — he acts at you. He pulls a performance out of you whether you're ready or not. With Ninaithale Inikkum, I was terrified. But he made sure I never felt alone on set.'
• Their pairing in Ninaithale Inikkum (1979) directly inspired director K. Balachander to cast them again in Salangai Oli (1983). Balachander said he wanted 'that same spark of two people who trust each other completely' for a film about a dancer and his muse.
