• For Itlu Sravani Subramanyam (2001), director Vamsy paired Narayana and Uttej together for the first time because he wanted two comedians who could play off each other's deadpan timing — neither had done a double-act before.
• In Premabhishekam (2008), Narayana would set up a joke with a slow, deliberate delivery, and Uttej would cut in with a rapid-fire punchline — they never rehearsed the rhythm; it was all instinct on set.
