• V. V. Vinayak cast Raghu Babu in 'Dil' (2003) after seeing his comic timing in a small role in 'Jayam' (2002). Raghu Babu was initially hesitant to play a full-length comedy role, but Vinayak convinced him by writing the character specifically around his dialogue delivery.
• On the sets of 'Adhurs' (2010), Vinayak would let Raghu Babu improvise entire stretches of dialogue. Raghu Babu once rewrote a 3-minute scene on the spot, and Vinayak kept the first take because it was funnier than the scripted version.
