• In Wafadaar (1985), Shakti Kapoor played the villain who terrorizes Sushma Seth's character. Their scenes together are the only ones where the film's melodrama actually works — she brings a wounded dignity, he brings the sneer. Neither could have sold that tension alone.
• Sushma Seth was already a respected theatre veteran when she worked with Shakti Kapoor. On the sets of Mard Ki Zabaan (1987), she reportedly coached him on dialogue delivery for a key emotional scene — something he later credited for helping him break out of his 'only villain' typecast.
• Shakti Kapoor once said in an interview: 'Sushma ji was the only co-star who could make me nervous. She'd just look at me and I'd forget my lines. That's the power of a real actress.'
• Their third and final film together, Khoon Ka Karz (1991), was the only one where they played family — she was his mother. That film's climax scene, where she slaps him in public, became a minor meme in North Indian video parlours in the early '90s.
• They were first paired in Wafadaar (1985) because the director needed a 'mother figure with steel' opposite Kapoor's brute. Seth was the only actress who agreed to shoot in the harsh Rajasthan locations without a body double. Kapoor later said that sealed his respect for her.
