• Boman personally recommended his son Kayoze to Karan Johar for Student Of The Year (2012). Karan was initially hesitant because Kayoze had zero acting experience. Boman convinced him by offering to coach Kayoze on set for free.
• On the sets of Youngistaan (2014), Boman would deliberately flub his lines in the middle of a take just to make Kayoze laugh. Kayoze said it was his father's way of breaking his nervousness before a serious scene.
• Boman never called Kayoze by his name on any of these three sets. He always referred to him as 'Beta' or 'Ladke' — even in front of the director. Kayoze says it was his father's way of keeping their professional relationship separate from their personal one.
