• Zayed Khan was not the first choice for the role of Lucky in Main Hoon Na. The role was originally offered to Hrithik Roshan, who turned it down. Zayed got the part after a screen test with Boman Irani, and the two ended up creating one of the film's most memorable comic tracks.
• In Main Hoon Na, Boman Irani's character (Professor) was the straight man to Zayed Khan's Lucky. Boman deliberately underplayed his reactions to Zayed's over-the-top energy, which made Zayed's comic timing pop even more. Zayed later said Boman taught him how to 'listen on screen'.
• Boman Irani and Zayed Khan became close friends during the shoot of Main Hoon Na. Boman, who was already a seasoned theatre actor, would rehearse scenes with Zayed at his home in Bandra before every schedule. Zayed called Boman 'Boman bhai' and often credited him for helping him find his comic rhythm.
• The success of Main Hoon Na directly led to Zayed Khan being cast in the ensemble of Yuvvraaj (2008). Director Subhash Ghai saw the Boman-Zayed chemistry in Main Hoon Na and specifically wanted them to recreate that energy in Yuvvraaj. The film flopped, but their pairing remained a talking point.
• Zayed Khan once said about Boman Irani: 'He is the only actor who can make me laugh even when I'm supposed to be angry in a scene. In Main Hoon Na, I'd break character every time he did that thing with his glasses.'
• In Tezz (2012), Boman Irani played a police officer and Zayed Khan played a terrorist. Their only scene together was a tense interrogation. Boman insisted on doing the scene in one continuous take, and Zayed matched his intensity without blinking. The director later said that single take saved the film's second half.
