• Venkatesh was the one who pushed for Vijaya Bhaskar to direct Nuvvu Naaku Nachav (2001). The director had only made one film before, and the producer was hesitant. Venkatesh insisted after seeing his earlier work.
• Vijaya Bhaskar wrote Malliswari (2004) specifically around Venkatesh's ability to play both comedy and emotion in the same scene. He said Venkatesh's timing let him switch from a laugh to a tear in under ten seconds.
