• Chiranjeevi once said in a 2001 interview: 'Raghavendra Rao garu is the only director who can make me cry in a comedy scene and laugh in a fight scene. He knows my rhythm better than I do.'
• Raghavendra Rao cast Chiranjeevi in Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari (1990) after seeing his mass appeal in Khaidi. But the real spark? Rao wanted Sridevi for the female lead, and Chiranjeevi personally convinced her to sign on — the two of them had never worked together before that.
• On the sets of Gharana Mogudu (1992), Raghavendra Rao would block the entire song sequence first, then let Chiranjeevi improvise the steps. Chiranjeevi’s spontaneous moves — like the iconic shoulder-shrug in the song 'Bangaru Kodi Petta' — became the final choreography. Rao never said cut; he just let the camera roll.
• Mugguru Monagallu (1994) directly inspired the Bollywood hit 'Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne' (2003) — director Sangeeth Sivan admitted in interviews that he remade the Telugu film shot-for-shot. That film exists only because Rao and Chiranjeevi first cracked the triple-role formula together.
• During the shoot of Iddaru Mitrulu (1999), Chiranjeevi’s father was hospitalized. Raghavendra Rao shut down production for two weeks without asking the producers — and personally drove Chiranjeevi to the hospital every day. They never spoke about it publicly.
