• Aditya was a debutant director when he cast Sunil for Manasantha Nuvve (2001). Sunil was already a known comedian, but Aditya gave him a full-fledged comic role that became the film's biggest talking point.
• In Nenunnanu (2004), Aditya wrote a rare emotional scene for Sunil's character — a departure from pure comedy. Sunil later said Aditya trusted him to pull off the shift without overacting, which no other director had done before.
• The success of Manasantha Nuvve (2001) directly led to Sunil getting his first standalone comic track in a major star film — Chiranjeevi's Daddy (2001). Aditya's film proved Sunil could carry a subplot alone.
