• Ali and Kovai Sarala first shared screen space in Sandade Sandadi (2002) because the director wanted a comedy pair that could match each other's timing beat-for-beat. Ali later said Sarala was the only actress who could keep up with his rapid-fire dialogue delivery without missing a breath.
• In Nuvva Nena (2012), Ali and Sarala played a bickering couple. Sarala would deliberately pause mid-sentence during rehearsals, forcing Ali to improvise his reactions on the spot. That unscripted tension made their arguments feel real.
• Their comic track in Temper (2015) was so well-received that director Puri Jagannadh later wrote a similar loud-couple dynamic into his next film, directly inspired by how Ali and Sarala bounced insults off each other.
