• Bapu cast Mithun in 'Hum Paanch' (1980) after seeing his raw energy in 'Mrigayaa' — but the producer was nervous because Mithun wasn't yet a star. Bapu insisted, and the film became a hit that helped launch Mithun's mainstream career.
• On the set of 'Pyari Behna' (1985), Bapu would give Mithun minimal dialogue and tell him to act with his eyes instead. Mithun later said Bapu taught him that silence on screen could be louder than screaming.
