Kumar was already a known face, but this pairing was a gamble — both were cast against type, with Kumar playing a negative role and Pancholi the hero.
• In 'Chor Aur Chaand' (1993), the two actors deliberately swapped their usual on-screen personas: Kiran Kumar played the comic sidekick while Aditya Pancholi took the serious lead. They rehearsed their scenes together for hours to make the switch feel natural, and the film's few memorable moments come from this role reversal.
• During the shoot of 'Devta' (1998), Kiran Kumar and Aditya Pancholi shared a hotel room for three weeks because the production ran out of budget. They reportedly spent nights rewriting their own dialogues, trying to salvage a script that was falling apart.
