• Zeenat Aman was the one who pushed for Sanjeev Kumar to play her father in 'Abdullah' (1980). The director wanted a younger actor, but Zeenat insisted Sanjeev had the gravitas. He was only 13 years older than her.
• In 'Takkar' (1980), Sanjeev Kumar deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery in their scenes together. He told Zeenat it forced her to stop rushing her lines and match his rhythm — the result was the first time critics praised her dramatic timing.
