• Sripriya was the bigger star when they first worked together in Kalicharan (1988). S. S. Chandran was still a supporting comedian. She reportedly insisted he be cast opposite her after seeing his timing in a stage play.
• In Pongi Varum Kaveri (1989), Sripriya played a fiery village woman while Chandran played her comic sidekick. She set the emotional pace in every scene; he followed her lead and improvised punchlines around her pauses. That rhythm made their banter feel real.
• During the shoot of Naane Varuven (1992), Sripriya and Chandran would rehearse their scenes in a car between takes. Chandran later said she was the only co-star who never complained about his chain-smoking breaks.
