• They first shared screen space in Mawaali (1983), but the pairing almost didn't happen — Sridevi was initially hesitant to work with a then-lesser-known Jayapradha in a multi-heroine setup. The producer convinced her by promising equal footage.
• In Tohfa (1984), Jayapradha played the loud, comic foil while Sridevi handled the emotional beats. They never competed for the same scene — Jayapradha would deliberately underplay her lines to let Sridevi's crying scenes land harder.
• During the shoot of Aakhree Raasta (1986), the two actresses shared a vanity van and would gossip in Tamil between takes — a language neither director K. Bapayya nor co-star Amitabh Bachchan understood. It became their private joke on set.
• Their pairing in Aulad (1987) was the last time two top South Indian heroines headlined a Hindi film together as equals. After this, the industry shifted to single-heroine blockbusters — their joint stardom marked the end of an era.
