• They first worked together in 'Dil-E-Nadaan' (1982), but the pairing almost didn't happen. Shatrughan Sinha was initially hesitant to sign the film because he thought the script was too light for his 'angry man' image. Jayapradha personally convinced him during a phone call, promising to match his intensity in the emotional scenes.
• In 'Qayamat' (1983), Shatrughan Sinha deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery in their confrontation scene so Jayapradha could hold her own with a single, long close-up reaction. She later said that pause made her performance look more powerful than any line she could have spoken.
• Their third film together, 'Paapi Pet Ka Sawaal Hai' (1984), was the first Hindi movie to openly address hunger and poverty as a romantic conflict. It directly inspired a wave of social-issue love stories in the mid-80s, including a lesser-known film by a young Mahesh Bhatt.
• During the shoot of 'Dil-E-Nadaan', Shatrughan Sinha would bring homemade biryani for the entire crew every Friday. Jayapradha later admitted she looked forward to those lunches more than the scenes.
• Jayapradha once said in a 1985 interview: 'Shatrughan ji is the only co-star who made me forget the camera. When he looks at you in a scene, you feel like you're the only person in the world.'
