• For Band Baaja Baaraat, director Maneesh Sharma auditioned over 300 girls before casting Anushka. Ranveer was a complete unknown — he had to do a screen test with her to prove they clicked. That test is what sealed the deal.
• On the sets of Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, Ranveer would deliberately mess up his lines to make Anushka laugh during serious scenes. She’d then improvise a comeback, and the director kept those takes because they felt more real than the scripted version.
• Their on-screen pairing in Band Baaja Baaraat directly inspired Yash Raj Films to greenlight more small-town rom-coms with fresh faces. Without that film’s success, you probably wouldn’t have gotten Shuddh Desi Romance or Dum Laga Ke Haisha.
