• Soori was a struggling comedian when Singamuthu cast him in Ullam Kollai Poguthae (2001). That film gave Soori his first real break in Tamil cinema.
• In Pulivaal (2014), Singamuthu wrote a role specifically for Soori that let him play a serious character for once. Soori later said that trust made him push his acting harder than any comedy role ever did.
• Singamuthu and Soori stayed in touch between films for over a decade, even when neither had a project together. Soori attended Singamuthu's family functions regularly.
• Pakka (2018) was the first hit either of them had in years. Its success directly led to Singamuthu getting funding for his next film, and Soori landing bigger supporting roles in mainstream productions.
