Their first film together, Sapoot (1996), was a typical 90s action drama where Prem played the baddie and Akshay the hero — a classic passing of the torch moment that the director, Jagdish A. Sharma, deliberately set up.
• In Delhi-6 (2009), Prem Chopra played a cranky old man who constantly bickers with Akshay's character. The comedy came from Prem's deadpan delivery against Akshay's hyperactive energy — Prem later said in an interview that Akshay kept improvising lines on set, and he had to stay stone-faced to not break character.
