• Akshay Kumar was a virtual unknown when Raj N. Sippy cast him in Saugandh (1991). Sippy had just seen his work in a small role and took a gamble — that film became Akshay's first leading-man vehicle.
• On the sets of Mr Bond (1992), Sippy let Akshay do most of his own stunts — a rarity for a newcomer. That trust built Akshay's reputation as an action star before he ever headlined a hit.
• The only reason Ikke Pe Ikka (1994) exists is because Sippy wanted to cash in on Akshay's rising popularity after Khiladi. It was a quickie action film, and it bombed — but it proved Akshay could carry a film even when the script didn't.
• After Paandav (1995) flopped, Sippy and Akshay never worked together again. No public fallout — just a quiet drift. Akshay later said in an interview that Sippy gave him his first break, but they simply lost touch.
