• Senthil and Simran first paired up in 'Aval Varuvala' (1998) because the director, K. Selva Bharathy, wanted a fresh-looking couple. Simran was already a rising star, but Senthil was relatively new — the director bet on their contrasting energies to sell the romantic comedy.
