• Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey first shared screen space in 'Dasvidaniya' (2008) because director Shashant Shah specifically wanted two actors who could play best friends without any ego — he cast them as a pair before they even knew each other well.
• In 'Dasvidaniya', Vinay Pathak wrote most of his own dialogue, but Ranvir Shorey would improvise punchlines in the middle of takes — and Pathak would then rewrite the next scene to match Shorey's rhythm. They built the film's comic timing by feeding off each other's rewrites.
• Their pairing in 'Dasvidaniya' directly inspired casting director Mukesh Chhabra to pair them again in 'The Film Emotional Atyachar' (2010) — he told the director that the two had 'a rhythm that can't be replicated' and insisted they play brothers.

• In 'Bajatey Raho' (2013), the two played con men who hate each other. To sell the tension, they refused to speak to each other off-camera for the entire 20-day shoot — then went for chai together the moment the director yelled 'cut' on the last day.
