Partnership facts

• They were thrown together in Jaani Dushman (1979) because the producer needed a quick replacement. The original lead dropped out last minute, and Jeetendra stepped in on a week's notice. Neetu later said she barely had time to rehearse with him before the first shot.
• In The Burning Train (1980), Neetu's character was the emotional anchor while Jeetendra played the action hero. But off-camera, she was the one who kept him calm during the dangerous train stunts — he admitted he was terrified of heights, and she'd talk him through every take.
• They never became close friends. Neetu has said in interviews that Jeetendra was always professional but kept to himself on set. After Chorni (1982), they never worked together again — not because of a fight, but because their career paths simply never crossed again.
• Their only hit together, The Burning Train (1980), was a multi-starrer that also launched a young Amitabh Bachchan's friendship with Jeetendra. That bond later led to Jeetendra producing a film for Amitabh's production company — a direct line from this pairing.
• Neetu once joked about their pairing: 'Jeetendra and I were like oil and water on screen — we didn't clash, but we never really mixed either. The Burning Train worked because the train was the real star.'
