• For 'Suraj' (1997), Mohan Joshi and Rakesh Bedi were cast together for the first time because the director wanted two actors who could switch between comedy and menace without missing a beat. Bedi later said Joshi was the only one who could keep up with his improvisations.
• In 'Babuji Ek Ticket Bambai' (2017), Bedi would deliberately flub a line to make Joshi break character. Joshi never broke — he'd just stare at Bedi with deadpan silence until the crew cracked up. That became their on-set game.
• Between takes on 'Raag' (2021), Joshi and Bedi would sit in the corner and argue about old Hindi film songs. Bedi insisted Kishore Kumar was the greatest; Joshi swore by Mukesh. They never agreed, but they'd do it again on every shoot.
