• In 'Bees Saal Baad' (1988), Dimple Kapadia played a double role opposite Amjad Khan. She was 31, he was 47. The director, Rajkumar Kohli, cast them specifically because he wanted a veteran villain and a leading lady who could handle both glamour and horror — a combo nobody else had tried in that genre.
• In 'Lekin...' (1990), Amjad Khan played a stern father to Dimple's character. Off-camera, he deliberately stayed aloof during rehearsals to keep her on edge. Dimple later said that his cold silence in between takes made her performance as a trapped daughter feel more real — she never knew when he'd break character.
• Their third and final film together, 'Rudaali' (1993), was the only one where they shared no scenes. Amjad Khan died of a heart attack just months before the film released. Dimple Kapadia dedicated her performance in the film to him — she said his absence on set made her play the grieving widow with a rawness she hadn't planned.
• Amjad Khan and Dimple Kapadia never socialized outside work. In interviews, Dimple admitted she was intimidated by him — he was a giant in villain roles, and she was still finding her footing after a long break. He never called her by her first name; he always addressed her as 'Mrs. Kapadia' on set.
• Dimple Kapadia once said about Amjad Khan: 'He was the only co-star who could make me forget my lines just by looking at me. That's how powerful his presence was.' She said this in a 1993 interview with Filmfare, shortly after his death.
