• They first shared screen space in 'Dulha Bikta Hai' (1982) because producer K.C. Bokadia needed a fresh pair for a social drama. Neither was a star yet — Dimple was returning after a break post-Rajesh Khanna marriage, Anita was just two films old. Bokadia bet on their contrasting looks: Dimple's intensity against Anita's softness.
• In 'Saazish' (1988), Dimple played the femme fatale while Anita played the virtuous wife. The director, Rajkumar Kohli, later said he cast them specifically so Dimple's sharp dialogue delivery would push Anita to react with more vulnerability — making the love triangle feel real.
• During the shoot of 'Insaniyat Ke Dushman' (1987), Dimple and Anita shared a vanity van because the budget was tight. Anita later recalled in an interview that Dimple would make her chai every morning and they'd gossip about co-stars — a ritual they kept for all three films.
