• They first met on the set of Nayyapudai (2016) — but not as co-stars. Rajendran was already cast as the lead comedian. Robo Shankar was brought in last minute to dub for a minor role after the original actor walked out. They bonded over a shared cigarette break and ended up improvising a scene together that the director kept in the final cut.
• In Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven (2019), Rajendran played the straight man to Robo Shankar's hyperactive sidekick. The trick was timing: Rajendran would deliberately pause his lines by half a beat, forcing Robo Shankar to fill the silence with a stammer or a twitch. That rhythm became their signature — you can spot it in every film they did together after that.

• In Nethraa (2019), they had a single-take chase sequence that ran 4 minutes. Rajendran insisted on doing it without rehearsal — he wanted Robo Shankar's genuine panic when he missed a cue.
