• Rajendran was the one who insisted on casting Sabha Swaminathan in 'Theri' (2016). He had seen Sabha in a small stage play and told director Atlee, 'This guy will steal every scene.' Atlee was skeptical until the first day of shoot.
• On the sets of 'Remo' (2016), Rajendran would deliberately flub his lines to make Sabha Swaminathan laugh. Sabha then started improvising his reactions mid-scene. The director kept those takes because the laughter felt real.

• In 'Aalukku Paathi 50-50' (2019), Rajendran insisted on doing the climax scene in one continuous take. Sabha had to match his energy without any cuts. The scene runs 4 minutes 17 seconds — the longest single take either of them has ever done in a comedy film.
