• Moushumi was the bigger star when they first paired up in 'Chambal Ki Kasam' (1980). Shatrughan was still finding his footing as a lead. She reportedly insisted on a few script changes to give his character more screen time — a move that made the director nervous but paid off at the box office.
• In 'Aag Hi Aag' (1987), Shatrughan's booming dialogue delivery kept overpowering their scenes. Moushumi started deliberately lowering her voice in response — forcing him to modulate. The director later said that push-and-pull created the film's only watchable moments.
• They never became friends off-screen. On the sets of 'Aakhri Baazi' (1989), they barely spoke between takes. A crew member recalled that Moushumi would read a book in her van while Shatrughan played cards with the stuntmen. The film's low rating? Nobody was surprised.
