• Shatrughan Sinha was already a star when he agreed to do Magroor (1979), but he insisted that Brij Sadanah — then mostly a writer — direct it. Sadanah had never directed a full feature before, and Sinha bet his own fee on the project to get the studio on board.
• On the sets of Bombay 405 Miles (1980), Sinha would rewrite his own lines in the middle of a scene. Sadanah didn't stop him — instead, he'd quietly adjust the blocking and camera angles to match Sinha's new dialogue. That's why the action sequences in that film feel so fluid: the director was literally chasing the actor's improvisation.
• Taqdeer (1983) was the first Hindi film to feature a car chase through a real Bombay fish market at peak hours. Sadanah wrote the sequence specifically because Sinha loved driving stunts. That chase later inspired a similar scene in a 1990s Amitabh Bachchan film — though nobody credits it.
• After Taqdeer flopped, Sadanah didn't direct another film for seven years. Sinha quietly paid the editor's pending salary from his own pocket — and never told the press. Sadanah only revealed this in a 2005 interview, saying, 'He didn't even let me thank him properly.'
• Brij Sadanah once said about Sinha: 'He would argue with me for twenty minutes about a single line, then deliver it exactly the way I wanted. He just needed to feel he had a say.'
