Trivia

  • The film is an unofficial adaptation of the classic 1974 neo-noir film 'Chinatown', but set in the dry, dusty landscape of Rajasthan.
  • Director Navdeep Singh initially wanted to cast a much bigger star for the lead role but eventually chose Abhay Deol for his understated acting style.
  • The movie's title refers to both the mysterious client, Manorama, and a popular brand of digestive tablets in India.
  • It was shot on location in a small, remote town in Rajasthan to capture a specific sense of isolation and heat.
  • Despite critical praise, the film was a commercial failure at the box office when it was first released.
  • The screenplay was partly inspired by real-life stories of corruption and water scarcity in rural India.
  • Cinematographer Arvind Kannabiran used a muted, dusty color palette to visually match the story's tense and parched atmosphere.
