→Trivia
- The film's title 'Mohabbatein' was inspired by a line from the 1975 film 'Sholay', where the character Basanti says 'Mohabbat bhi zindagi ki tarah hoti hai'.
- Shah Rukh Khan's character Raj Aryan Malhotra was originally written as a much older man, with actors like Amitabh Bachchan considered before Khan was cast.
- The grand Gurukul school set was built from scratch at Film City, Mumbai, and remained one of Bollywood's largest sets for years after filming.
- Aishwarya Rai wore a real bridal lehenga weighing over 20 kilograms for her wedding scene, which made filming the song sequence physically demanding.
- The film's iconic background score, including the 'Mohabbatein' theme, was composed by Jatin-Lalit but the soundtrack album credits only list them for songs.
- This was the first film where Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan shared significant screen time, leading to widespread media coverage of their 'clash of titans'.
- Director Aditya Chopra made a rare on-screen appearance as an extra, playing a student in the background during one of the college festival scenes.
