• Yash Chopra didn't want to cast Shah Rukh Khan in Darr (1993). He thought SRK was too 'nice' to play a creepy stalker. SRK begged for a screen test, did one scene where he tied a woman to a chair, and Chopra changed his mind on the spot.
• On Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Yash Chopra let Shah Rukh Khan rewrite his own dialogues. SRK turned a straightforward romantic hero into a sarcastic, self-aware guy who breaks the fourth wall. That improv became the film's signature tone.
• Veer-Zaara (2004) directly inspired the 2016 Pakistani film 'Actor in Law'. The director Nabeel Qureshi said he wanted to capture the same cross-border love story without the melodrama — and even cast the same lead actress (Preity Zinta) in a cameo as a nod.
