Koyla(1997)
Koyla is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed, co-written, and produced by Rakesh Roshan. The lead cast includes Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, and Amrish Puri. The story follows Shankar, a mute servant loyal to the cruel coal mine owner Raja. When Raja tricks the innocent village girl Gauri into marriage by sending her Shankar's photo, a chain of violence, escape, and revenge unfolds. The film is notable for its high-octane action sequences performed by Khan and Amrish Puri's menacing performance as the villain, which earned him a Filmfare nomination. Some scenes were shot in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The film was released on 18 April 1997 and grossed ₹28.05 crore worldwide.

Storyline
A mute servant named Shankar is loyal to the evil Raja. Raja wants to marry the beautiful Gauri. He sends her Shankar's photo, and she agrees. On her wedding night, Gauri discovers the truth. Raja tortures her. Shankar helps her escape. They fall in love. But Raja catches them and leaves Shankar for dead. Shankar survives, finds his voice, and returns for revenge.
