Trivia

  • The film is a remake of the 1993 Telugu movie 'Gaayam', which itself was inspired by Hollywood's 'The Hand That Rocks the Cradle'.
  • Actor Nana Patekar, who plays Vishwanath, was not the first choice; the role was reportedly offered to another major actor initially.
  • The movie's title 'Agni Sakshi' translates to 'Fire Witness', symbolizing a trial by fire for the main characters.
  • This was one of the few films where actress Manisha Koirala played a dual role, portraying both Shubangi and Madhu.
  • Director Partho Ghosh and composer Anu Malik collaborated frequently, with this film's soundtrack including the hit song 'Mujhe Pyaar Hua'.
  • The film's climax and courtroom drama were noted for being unusually intense for a mainstream Hindi movie of that era.
  • Despite its thriller elements, the movie underperformed at the box office upon its initial release.
