Trivia

  • The film's title 'Saajan Chale Sasural' was inspired by a popular folk song of the same name from the 1962 film 'Mere Mehboob'.
  • This was one of the few films where actor Govinda played a double role, portraying both Shyamsunder and his look-alike.
  • The movie marked the Bollywood debut of actress Twinkle Khanna, who played the role of Divya.
  • Music director Anand-Milind composed the songs, but the film's soundtrack did not achieve the same success as other Govinda-David Dhawan collaborations.
  • A major comedy sequence was filmed at the famous Sun 'n Sand hotel in Mumbai, a common filming location in the 90s.
  • The plot of a man caught between two women was a common theme in David Dhawan's comedies during the mid-1990s.
  • Despite starring Govinda, the film was not a major box office hit compared to his other releases that year like 'Coolie No. 1'.
