Kartavya(1995)
Kartavya is a 1995 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Raj Kanwar. It stars Sanjay Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Amrish Puri, and Moushumi Chatterjee. The story follows Karan, a young man who learns on his foster mother's deathbed that his real mother is a wealthy heiress confined to a mental asylum by her greedy stepbrother. Karan travels to Sundernagar to rescue her and punish the villains. The film is known for its dramatic plot and the real-life tragedy of original lead Divya Bharti, who died during production and was replaced by Juhi Chawla. It received poor reviews and was a box office disappointment.

Storyline
Karan lives a happy life until his foster mother dies and reveals he is adopted. His real mother, Gayatri, is a rich heiress locked in a mental asylum by her evil stepbrother Ugranarayan. Karan must fight Ugranarayan and his sons to free his mother and bring her home.
