• They first shared screen space in 'Mehboob Mere Mehboob' (1992) because the producer needed two reliable character actors who could shoot a quick schedule in Ooty. Neither had met before the first day of filming.
• In 'Eena Meena Deeka' (1994), Grover played the loud, scheming villain while Nath played the meek, comic sidekick. Their scenes worked because Grover would deliberately overact, forcing Nath to underplay even more — making Nath's deadpan reactions the punchline.
• During the shoot of 'Ghoonghat' (1997), Nath would bring homemade ghee-laden snacks to set every day. Grover later admitted he gained 4 kilos during that schedule because he couldn't say no to Nath's 'prasad'.
• Gulshan Grover once said in a 2018 interview: 'Alok Nath and I never had a single argument on set. He'd say his lines, I'd say mine, and we'd go eat together. It was boringly professional.'
• Their only three films together all flopped at the box office. But 'Eena Meena Deeka' (1994) later became a minor cult hit on Doordarshan reruns, with college students mimicking Grover's exaggerated laugh and Nath's bewildered stare in hostel common rooms.
