Trivia
- The film's title is a popular Hindi idiom meaning 'father is number one, son is number ten,' often used to suggest the son is inferior.
- Actor Kader Khan, who played the lead, also wrote the dialogues for this film, as he did for many Bollywood movies.
- This was one of the few comedies from the early 90s that paired Kader Khan with actor Shakti Kapoor in prominent roles.
- The movie was filmed partly in the coastal town of Umargaon in Gujarat, which is a real location.
- Director Aziz Sazawal was primarily known as a cinematographer and shot many films before directing this one.
- The soundtrack, composed by Bappi Lahiri, included a song picturized on a young child actor playing the son.
- Despite being a comedy, the plot involves a subplot about a deceased honest customs officer, adding a touch of drama.
