Puli is a 2015 Indian Tamil-language fantasy action adventure film directed by Chimbu Deven. The film stars Vijay in a dual role as Marudheeran and his father Pulivendhan, alongside Sridevi, Prabhu, Sudeep, Shruti Haasan, and Hansika Motwani. The story follows Marudheeran, a brave young man who discovers he is half-human and half-demon, as he fights against the cruel demon rulers of Vedhalapuram to rescue his kidnapped wife. The film features visual effects by PhantomFx and music composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Puli received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics, who praised the cast performances and visual effects but criticized the screenplay. The film was screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan.
