Trivia
- The film's villain Siddharth Abhimanyu was partly inspired by real-life biotech entrepreneur Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw.

- The movie's climax was shot in a single schedule at a specially constructed large laboratory set.
- It was one of the rare Tamil films where the villain's character became more popular than the hero's.
- The film's title 'Thani Oruvan' translates to 'The One Man', highlighting the hero's solitary fight against the system.
- Composer Hiphop Tamizha reused a musical theme from his earlier independent track 'Club le Mabbu le' for a fight sequence.
