Vellaiya Irukiravan Poi Solla Maatan is a 2015 Tamil-language black comedy film written and directed by A.L. Abanindran in his feature debut. The ensemble cast includes Praveen Kumar, Sanam Shetty, Shalini Vadnikatti, Bala Saravanan, Aruldoss, Jayaprakash, Karthik Kumar, and Aadukalam Naren. The story follows Karthik, an honest IT professional who resorts to blackmailing corrupt individuals to fund his father's cancer treatment. The film was produced by Ignite Films and co-produced by cinematographer Ravi Varman. It was shot in Chennai over forty days. The title is taken from a Vadivelu dialogue in the 2007 film Aarya. The soundtrack was composed by Joshua Sridhar. The film released on 24 December 2015, delayed by three weeks due to the 2015 South Indian floods. Critics praised the film as a confident debut with a relatable screwball comedy tone.

Storyline
Karthik is an honest IT professional whose father is diagnosed with cancer. He cannot afford the expensive treatment. Desperate, he starts blackmailing dishonest people for money. His small-time scheme soon targets a powerful politician. Now Karthik must outsmart the politician and save his father before it is too late.
