Manamagale Vaa(1988)
Manamagale Vaa (transl. Come, my bride) is a 1988 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Panchu Arunachalam in his directorial debut. The film stars Prabhu and Radhika, with Radhika playing a dual role as Chitra and Rajathi. The story follows Balu, an arrogant bachelor who rejects many women while searching for a perfect wife, and Chitra, who disguises herself as a village belle to teach him a lesson and save her sister's marriage. The film reverses the classic 'Taming of the Shrew' formula, with the woman outsmarting the man. It was praised by The Indian Express and Kalki magazine for its comedy and fresh approach. The soundtrack was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The film was released on 25 November 1988.
