Thambatyam(1987)
Thambatyam (transl. Intimacy) is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language family drama film directed by K. Vijayan and produced by T. S. Kalyani. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan as Dr. Sathyamoorthy, a respected heart surgeon, alongside Ambika as his wife Janaki and Radha in a pivotal role. The story follows a happy family whose lives are shattered when the father is falsely accused of murder by an old enemy. The film is a remake of the Telugu film Dampatyam. It features a soundtrack composed by Manoj–Gyan. Critical reception noted strong performances but criticized the screenplay for lacking clarity in the second half.
