'Vetri' (transl. Victory) is a 1984 Indian Tamil-language action crime film directed by S. A. Chandrasekaran. The film stars Vijayakanth in the lead role, with Viji, Raja, and Y. G. Mahendran in supporting roles. The story follows a college student who loves winning bets and becomes entangled in a revenge plot after a friend's sister is raped and commits suicide. The film is a remake of the director's own 1983 Kannada film 'Geluvu Nannade'. It is notable for featuring actor Vijay in his first on-screen appearance as a child artist. The music was composed by Shankar–Ganesh. The film was released on 17 February 1984.

Storyline

A college student named Vijay loves winning bets. He agrees to kill a professor who raped his friend's sister. But when the moment comes, he cannot do it. His friend Arun kills the professor instead, and Vijay is arrested for the murder. He must prove his innocence in court while facing a powerful enemy from his past.
