Aani Ver(1981)
Aani Ver is a 1981 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Vijayan and produced by Thiruppur Mani under Vivekananda Pictures. The film stars Sivakumar as Raman and Saritha as Arukkani, with Sathyaraj, Poornam Viswanathan, S. N. Lakshmi, and S. S. Chandran in supporting roles. The story follows Arukkani, a lower-caste village girl who becomes a District Collector after clearing the Union Public Service Commission exam, but struggles to balance her official duties with her marriage to her illiterate husband Raman. The film explores themes of caste, gender roles, and the conflict between personal ambition and societal expectations. The soundtrack was composed by Shankar–Ganesh, with the song 'Naan Thane Oru Pudhu Kavithai' borrowing from Boney M's 'Rasputin'. Upon release on 10 April 1981, the film received mixed reviews, with future Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa criticising its climax for promoting regressive gender norms. Nalini Sastry of Kalki praised the dialogues and direction but noted that actor Viswanathan was underutilised. The film is not currently available on major streaming platforms.

Storyline
